Hiatus
July 07, 2006
Equality is going on a little hiatus and will not be posting here for awhile. My buddy Domokun may post occasionally if the spirit moves him. Feel free to continue to comment on previous posts and use this site as a jumping-off point to the rest of the DAMU. As part of my farewell, I leave you with the words of the late great Warren Zevon:
This time I have to leave
It's all too clear
It's plain to see
No use in hang'n 'round
Like a dog that cries and growls
This time I have to leave
Did you hear that I'm attached?
I'm on a dead end path
Can't you see it hurts me so?
But I really got to go
This time I have to leave
I'm gon'na disappear
Stayed too long, I'll shake my tears
You gave your all, we weren't shy
So thanks again, it's been nice
This time I have to leave
It's all too clear
It's plain to see
No use in hanging 'round
They tell me I'm out'ta bounds
This time I have to leave
Well, It looks as though I'll be gone for a while
So try not to get too riled
There'll be another time when we can unwind
But I got to get it on down the line
This time I have to leave
It's all too clear
It's plain to see
No use in hanging 'round
You'll get by somehow
This time I have to leave
But love won't go away
I'm feel'n I got to stay
And go on liv'n a lie
With you I know there's no goodbye
This time I have to leave
It's all too clear
It's plain to see
No use in hanging 'round
After all, anyway, anyhow
This time I have to leave
Equality, you can check out any time you like but...
And since this is the case, I'm very much looking forward to your company.

Equality has been on hiatus for forever, why announce it now?
Oh, I see -- it's "The Blogger Known As Equality" that's going on hiatus. (grin)
Here's the song lyric I choose:
After Hours
(Twelve Bars Past Goodnight)
(Rickie Lee Jones)
All the gang has gone home
Standing on the corner
All alone
You and me, streetlight
We'll paint the town - gray
Oh, we are so many lamps
Who have lost our way
Say goodnight, America
The world still loves a dreamer
And all the gang has gone home
And I'm standing on the corner
All alone

Please unlock the "Why History Matters" comments, I want a piece of Blake.

dv,
I appreciate your zeal. I think Mayan Elephant is planning to start a thread on the subject over at the Foyer. That may be a better venue to take on Brother Blake's theories and attitudes.

I have added to the left sidebar at the top a "Best of Equality" with links to what I consider the highlights of my blog. I have done this, first, because I have a big ego and, second, because I know there may be new visitors to this site on occasion and, while I am on hiatus, I thought I would make it easy for them to find the posts that I think best represent my thoughts. These posts accomplish that in a manner and tone I sought to strike when I first began blogging. For snark and lightmindedness, visitors will need to scour my archives.

Just as long as you have not gone permanantly into syndication. The comments over at Mormon Stories are great but it does not make-up for re-runs at Equality Time. :)
